Yes!! This group is open to people who are brand new to this work, seasoned participants, and fellow coaches/ practitioners who share my interest in exploring this work in community, and observing what it is about this work that’s so effective.
-
One of my aims for this experience is for people to feel free to question, explore, and redefine what “artist” actually means! You don’t need any previous “art” experience to find deep engagement and inspiration within this work.
The Artist’s Way is about reclaiming your innate creativity—not earning a title or proving talent. Many participants arrive believing they’re “not creative,” “out of practice,” or “not artistic enough,” and discover that creativity was never missing—only waiting for permission and space to return.
-
NOPE! This is a creative recovery process, not a religious program. Participants come from a wide range of spiritual, secular, and questioning backgrounds. You’re free and encouraged to engage with the practices using language and metaphors that align with your own values and lived experience.
If you have willingness and an open mind, you’ll do just fine- and you’ll have a lot of good times along the way :)
-
Calls will be available for replay through a private link throughout the duration of the 13 week program. The magic of these experiences is truly in the people who shoe up and in the group sharing - the container is here to hold you!
About your Guide
As the author and artist of the sold-out E M E R G E N C E Oracle Deck, Joanna has been exploring and embodying the principles of The Artist’s Way for the last 13 years of transformation. She attributes practices and experiences bloomed through this book to much of the deck’s inspiration.
Having filled well over 100 journals, she has been repurposing some of her earliest morning pages into new materials since 2023, thanks to a magical collaboration with Seeing With Your Heart and Seastone Papers on Martha’s Vineyard.
Some of the projects she has created from the repurposed journal paper include a 78-card hand-illustrated tarot deck sealed in Beeswax, a coptic-bound journal, a series of nine paintings celebrating the Hindu Warrior Goddess, Durga Ma created over three seasons of Navaratri, a handmade mala, an ongoing unfoldment of 108 hand-painted Honeybees featuring flora local to New England, and most recently, this mask.
You can learn more about some of these creative initiatives in this video.
As a professional artist with 16 years selling online, early career roots in arts administration, nonprofit leadership development, and philanthropy, and ten years of experience as a certified holistic wellness coach, yoga teacher, & meditation guide who has been teaching mindfulness-based art and resiliency practices to hundreds of national and global organizations since 2020, she’s so excited to re-emerge in the public creative leadership realm for her fifth Artist’s Way cohort.
