One of the originals in the E M E R G E N C E Oracle Deck, this thousand-petalled lotus, symbolic of the Sahasrara or Crown Chakra in the yogic tradition, emerged through a multi-year series of meditations on generational healing and the Seven Generations principle. To my absolute wonderment, these studies on roots gave rise to an emergence of the Crown!
Featuring 512 8-pointed stars, each star connects to form a petal. Together, the petals unify, forming a thousand-petalled lotus. In the yogic tradition, the Crown Chakra is the gateway to our faith and capacity for receiving divine guidance, not necessarily in grandiose ways, but in subtlest and simplest ways of listening to the still, small voice within in day to day, mundane living, and having the courage to be honest and congruent in our thinking/feeling/acting.
This painting encourages faith in ones own capacity to heal, to grow, to be resilient and courageous, to emerge, to root, and rise - and to share the gifts of the soul with courage, trust, generosity, and joy- as well as faith in Divine Intelligence, Source, God, the Greater Mystery that weaves.
Ultimately, this painting is all about surrender. It’s about the profound peace that emerges through letting go and letting God as they say in 12-step and various spiritual communities.
Created in batik method as a meditative healing and living prayer for generations of past, present, and future, materials used include Beeswax, Frankincense, Rosewater, Silk Dye, Gouache paint, and Ink on Arches paper.
