This set of nine original paintings of the fierce divine feminine warrior mother goddess Durga Maa was created over the course of 18 months, during three consecutive nine-night observances of Navaratri, a Hindu festival widely celebrated in India that honors the divine feminine, in correspondence with Fall and Spring new moon cycles.
Featuring handmade journal paper, archival ink and gouache illustration, and hand gilded gold foil made of copper, each miniature measures approximately 3”x4” and is mounted on black archival paper affixed to foam core for easy framing or freeform displaying within travel altars.
Learn more about Navaratri, Durga, and the energies of Kali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati folded into this artwork in upcoming articles on my Substack, or browse my earlier publications on this topic (start with this 90 second video, then scroll back to this post from Fall 2024 which begins a series of nine consecutive posts with info on each expression of Durga along with journal prompts.)
(Sri Yantra and Tigress paintings shown for display purposes; both are currently available as seperate purchase)
