“Sanctuary” emerged as part of a healing meditation that began in Spring 2023 as gold ink on stonehendge paper, and resurrected in Spring 2025 with the addition of white and additional gold and dozens of hours of additional labor.
Beginning with a compass, straight edge, the symbol of the Halo Dove as symbolic of the Holy Spirit and Soul Integration, and a curiosity to see what it would look like to repeat the symbol 108 times, this art form took over two years to complete, with seven full rotations around the wheel. It traveled to the Hudson Valley to be tended in the field of other visionary artists, as well as accompanying me to sacred trees and shorelines around Providence, RI where I have called home for the last 12 years.
Each of the 108 Halo doves has been intricately painted by hand
